INFRARED LIGHT THERAPY

What is infrared light therapy?

Red and near-infrared light therapy is the practice of exposing the body to specific wavelengths of light to create change and induce healing at a cellular level.

Red Light Therapy was developed by NASA and incorporates Red Low Light Wavelength type bulbs to help jumpstart the process of tissue recovery and other forms of rejuvenation for the skin in a safe all natural process.

Red Low Light  Bulbs penetrate the skin tissue to a depth of about 8-10 mm, making it beneficial in treating problems close to the surface of the skin such as scars, cuts, wounds, infections and the best of all – Anti-aging.

To do this, the Red Light bed can accelerate skin healing by penetrating to the bottom of the skin’s dermis layer and into the subcutaneous fatty layer. It can also stimulate the production of collagen and elastin proteins. It may increase the skin’s metabolism of healthy oxygen and nutritional molecules.

What is infrared light therapy like?

When you come in for your treatment, you will be brought into a private room that contains a bed similar in looks to a tanning bed (though it is NOT a tanning bed, and does not emit any UV radiation).

You will be given a pair of tanning goggles and instructed to undress, in private, to your level of comfort, and lay down in the bed with the goggles on. We always have comforting music playing throughout the spa but if you wish to listen to your own music we suggest you bring a pair of headphones.

The bed doesn’t produce a significant amount of heat, so you should be warm enough to relax, meditate, doze off, or just lay still and enjoy your time spent for yourself.

Infrared light therapy is not dangerous and is safe for all ages.

Infrared is a powerful therapy that requires zero downtime and has no adverse short or long-term side effects. The benefits of infrared light therapy have been extensively studied and confirmed in thousands of clinical trials. Unlike tanning beds, red light and infrared light do not emit any harmful UV radiation and will not cause damage to your skin.
